Born in Ireland, Jim Harte has been singing and playing since a very early age.
Jim has performed in most parts of the world alongside some great artists including: Rick Nelson and the Stone Canyon Band, Dusty Springfield, Val Doonican, Albert Lee, The Drifters, Cilla Black, Frank Ifield, Hank Locklin, Roger Miller, Jerry Reid, Rufus Thomas, Ben E King and many more.
Jim has appeared on television in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany and played on weekly television and radio shows in Ireland.
Jim had a number of top 10 hits in Ireland including a Chuck Berry song “Nadine” and a ballad called “Words” on the Rex label (Decca); and a Kenny Rogers’ song “Rueben James” on the Force label.
Jim first visited Australia in the mid ‘70’s to do cabaret and a national television show with John Williamson called “Travelling Out West”. He also performed at shows up and down the country and fell in love with Australia.
Jim immigrated to Australia in 1986 and made Perth his home.
As well as having his own band Jim has sang with many local bands and made numerous guest appearances. He is a creative songwriter and has recently released an independent CD of his own original songs.
Jim also played in the Albert Hall, Carnegie Hall and had a 3 month engagement in Bali at the Dynasty Resort and last year completed a tour of South Africa. In 2008 he performed at Tamworth Festival and was invited back again for 2009.
Currently, Jim is busy with his solo career and has been enjoying very much playing 60’s, 70’s, Country music, the ever popular Neil Diamond and the odd joke or two at the many clubs and facilities around Australia.
Jim started his 2009 Australian Tour with performances at Tamworth Festival, Sydney and Brisbane Motorhome shows and other venues round Australia. He is off to Africa in September and back to Bali in Nov.
